UsageWatch Support

UsageWatch displays Codex and Claude Code quota readings on iPhone, widgets and Apple Watch.

Cloud version 0.2

The phone-authorized Claude compatibility API was deployed on 2026-10-02 and build 16 was installed/launched on iPhone 17. The user completed real Claude authorization on build 16 and the standard cloud Worker successfully read and stored its first native quota windows without sending a model message. The phone-only database migration completed after old-request drain, and all five scheduled jobs are active again. Comparison with the official page, renewal, AutoFill and Widget/Watch behavior still need acceptance; this is not a verified public launch.

On the startup page, sign in with Apple or choose Skip. Skipping opens the app without creating a cloud account. When you first connect a provider, read the recovery warning and choose Apple sign-in or continued anonymous use; only continuing anonymously creates an anonymous account. The Settings demo-data module has been removed.

Connect Codex through OpenAI's official device-code flow in the system browser. Connect Claude through the official authorization URL opened by the app. Sign in on Claude's page, copy the authorization code it returns, and paste it into UsageWatch's native authorization page to complete the same attempt. This code is an official authorization code; no Mac pairing or Mac application is required. Apple sign-in identifies your Usagewatch account and does not replace provider authorization. Widgets and Watch receive separate read credentials from the iPhone app.

Both providers are queried by isolated cloud runtimes. Claude uses the unmodified official CLI's native /usage view, so it can update while your Mac is off and does not wait for a local terminal/status-line callback. Refresh requests can queue a new cloud query; an unsuccessful query keeps the prior reading and its age. The service does not send model messages to measure quota. CLI output compatibility and genuine quota accuracy remain acceptance items. Widget and Watch updates follow Apple's scheduling.

Manage connections, revoke devices or delete your Usagewatch account in Settings. Disconnecting asks for confirmation; reconnect through that provider's official authorization. The old Mac upload and npm relay paths are historical and are not imported into the replacement connector.

Account recovery

You can link Apple later while using an anonymous account, retaining provider connections and widget/Watch credentials. If that Apple identity belongs to another Usagewatch account, linking reports a conflict and keeps both accounts intact; it does not merge or overwrite their data.

If you sign out or lose an anonymous account's management credentials before linking Apple, Apple sign-in cannot recover it. Authorize the providers again. There is no recovery code. Link Apple beforehand to recover through Apple sign-in on another iPhone. Signing out is separate from deleting your online account.

Anonymous accounts and Apple linking were deployed on 2026-10-01. That deployment predates the cloud Claude replacement. The compatible replacement API is now deployed; its phone-only migration is complete, while real-device/provider acceptance remains pending.

Common issues

If widgets or Apple Watch views are empty, open the iPhone app once and tap the refresh icon on the right of Show connected devices in Settings to reconnect their read access. Wait for the widget timeline to reload.

If Claude authorization expires, restart it from Connect Claude. Use the code from the current official authorization attempt. If no fresh usage reading arrives, keep the previous reading's timestamp and check the connection/error state rather than assuming a reset or zero usage. A server health response does not establish successful provider login or quota collection.
